On my journey to becoming a man, I remember hearing and seeing much – called these sounds and sights environmental shapers.
The song “Ain’t Understanding Mellow” – Jerry Butler had a profound impact on me. However, for a different reason for which the lyrics were composed.
I thank God for filling me with a Love, Power, and Sound Mindedness that nothing has been able to shake – not words, actions, laws, politics, treatment, etc.
When you understand you are supposed to love and have the power to love your fellow man, not for what he or she does or say, but because of what “He Said,” your life takes on a new meaning – “you become Free.”
Sometimes it isn’t easy to understand all the negativism in the world; however, these times and things won’t last; they have their purpose.
When challenged, do you have the courage to do and say the right things? Do you have the ability to endure the forthcoming pain for not doing the right things? When making your decision to please or be accepted by man, is it a never-ending journey?
Man’s acceptance is short-term and a fickle thing, and you will always come out on the short end of the stick. “Man is selfish and self-centered” – what has been done for me lately.
